There are plenty of places to visit in the area surrounding Montone. Montone is the perfect based for those who want to be able to explore Umbria, Tuscany and Marche.

Assisi – 30 mins Birth place of St Francis and worth a visit to see the amazing Basilica
Lago Trasimeno – 30 mins man made beaches surround the lake, plenty of watersports, good fish restaurants, boat rides out to the islands of Maggiore and Polvese
Gubbio –20 mins medieval hill town. Famous for the the largest Christmas tree in the world, every year hundreds of coloured lights are used to illuminated this spectacular fir tree.
Perugia – 30 mins the capital of Umbria, and is famous for the Umbrian Jazz festival which is held at the end of July. The Corso Vannucci is the main (pedestrianised) street, where you will find some great. Also famous for its college for foreigners.
Cortona-Tuscany- 45mins
Beautiful Tuscan hill top town with a beautiful square where you can sit and drink a glass of chilled wineFamous for France’s Mayes book and film ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’.
Todi, Orvieto and Spoleto - 1 hour
Beautiful hill towns famous for their summer arts festival and with plenty of artistic, historical and cultural interest. Great for a day trip
Arezzo-Tuscany 45 mins
Famous for the setting of the film ‘A beautiful Life’.
The first sunday of every month Arezzo holds its famous antiques market.
Florence-Tuscany 1 ½ hours
Its probably easier to get the train from Arezzo to Florence if going on a day trip. There are traffic restrictions in the historical so taking the train makes it less stressful. The train station in Florence is in the historical centre providing easy access to visitors
If you are keen on shopping then Italy is one place you can really enjoy this activity
Fano 1 1/2 hours
Family friendly beach, umbrellas and loungers can be rented and there is a nice promenade where you can have lunch
